Fitting Bras

The fit is the most important consideration when shopping for bras. If you are wearing the same bra size year after year you are probably wearing the wrong bra size. A 5 pound weight gain or loss can change your bra size! The normal aging process changes our body size and shape too. 

I do not recommend wired bras. I am short and round and when I have worn a wire it would cut off my breath and mobility. Bras are not supposed to be instruments of torture! 

The average life of a bra is 3-4 months! Unfortunately after that, they are unable to do the job they need to do. 

For the best fit, put the bra on, bend at the waist and pull all the tissue out from under your arm pit and push it into the cup. I know that sounds funny but most of us have at least another ½ cup size under our arm and this little action will give you a full and perfect fit. 

If you aren’t sure what size you need, I suggest you take a tape measure and measure underneath your bust. Next measure the fullest part of your bust. Send me this information with your height and I can help you find the best bra size for you.

Yesterday(9/30/00), I had a lady come into the store to be fitted. She had done some shopping on the website and realized that I was 40 minutes from her home. She didn't know what size she wore but she was sure she was a C cup. I measured her but reminded her that the fit is what counts, not the measurement. She fit a D-DD cup and couldn't believe it. A bra that was comfortable!

As she left she said that she would have ordered the C cup online and would have blamed the bra and me for it not fitting- never guessing that it was the cup that didn't fit. Moral to this story is that when ordering online, for best results be open to what works, regardless of the size on the tag. Bra fitting is a team effort and one that can have a happy ending.
